Wall-mounted towel rack: what size do you need?
How to choose the right width for a wall-mounted towel rack, from 30 cm to 60 cm, based on your wall space and towels.
Measure the wall first
Measure the free width of the wall where the rack will go, leaving some breathing room on each side so the rack doesn't look squeezed between a door frame, mirror or tiles edge.
Match the width to your towels
A towel needs room to hang flat to dry well. Fold your usual towel in half lengthways and measure it — the rack should be at least that wide.

Rough rule of thumb
30–40 cm suits hand towels, guest bathrooms and narrow walls.
50–60 cm suits bath towels and family bathrooms, where several towels hang at once.
Tiers multiply the space
A three-tier rack hangs several towels in the same wall width, which is often more useful than simply going wider.
